Ford explorer is yet another midsized SUV released by Ford, an American automaker, in the year 1991. And by till date five generations have come to hit the market. This explorer is slightly lesser in size than the expedition model and so it is called as midsized sedan. Ford has made many improvements this cat since its release. 2011 model is expected to be released in the second half of 2010 and spy pictures of it are being released. The first generations cars are reported to have the danger of rolling especially the ones fitted with Firestone Tires. The car is now in its fifth generation phase and which has curbed all the previous four generations disadvantages. The fifth generation car has got lesser towing capability but has increased sophistication and on road performance and is a five door SUV. The Fifth generation Explorer has inflatable seat belts. Ford has said that they going to use cold air for blowing up the air bags instead of hot air since hot air is subjected to the risk of causing burns. These inflatable seat belts are fitted to the rear also. Further the engine is a V6 engine to give better towing capability and on road performance. This is expected to be sold at 28880 USD.
